Continuing Education:
The Dharma Approach

Dharma Yoga is a graceful, inspiring and empowering form of Hatha Raja yoga developed by Sri Dharma Mittra, one of the oldest living yoga masters of today. In Sanskrit, “Dharma” also refers to your soul purpose, your unique frequency and signature, what you came here to do. If teaching sacred, transformational yoga classes is your dharma and you feel this compelling urge to deepen and reframe the way that you teach, this online course is for you.

Hi, I´m Krissa

I´m a 500hr certified Dharma Yoga Teacher who has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching for over a decade, in London, Hong Kong, Norway and now Canada. I´m also a Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Women´s Circle Space Holder, a 37-year old woman, a proud mother to my two young daughters, a full-time yogipreneur and a householder. Why do I feel these details matter? Because if you are anything like me, my bet is that you probably love your yoga practice (whether it is Dharma, Hatha, vinyasa or similar), but have felt lately that something is missing. It took me a few years, some deep soul-searching, many “divorces” from yoga and humbling experimentation to figure out why I suddenly felt lost and what I could do about it. For me, what seemed to be missing was the feminine voice, the feminine perspective in my yoga practice, the maternal guide and the true honouring of our cyclical natures and the various seasons of our lives (because as women, we have many!). I wanted to create a training that would incorporate the best of my teachings and practice through the years thus far. Here is where I landed…

The 4 Pillars of this Training

A feminine adaptation of Dharma Yoga´s “Life of a Yogi” teachings, introducing the three phases of womanhood, the concepts of Maiden (Yogini), Mother (Householder), Crone (Wise Woman) and how our practice might change at different stages of our lives.

Module 8: Yoga as Ceremony

Drawing from my own personal experience with sacred, shamanic ceremonies, rave culture and the Dharma Yoga practice, this module is the secret sauce to my teaching success over the years. Discover the rituals, music, instruments and structure to make your personal experience and the classes you teach so much more transformative, memorable and impactful. You´ll no longer be wondering, “how did you do that?!”. You will KNOW how to do this.

Module 6: Restorative Yoga

This is the practice I wish I had discovered sooner! Experience the deeply nurturing nature of this practice and how it can fit into your life and your classes. Learn how to facilitate Restorative Yoga with hands-on adjustments (a.k.a. “The Yoga Spa”).

Module 9: Practicum & Graduation

Homework, teaching assessment, integration and closing practices.

Learn to create memorable, transformative and impactful yoga classes…

What makes this course different:

Learn the essence of Dharma Yoga without committing to a(nother) full-time teacher training

A typical 200/500/800hr yoga teacher training can easily set you back upwards of $2500. For those with full-time jobs, it would require taking extended time-off to immerse yourself in the training and often times, the skills that you really want to learn are spread out across different trainings. If Dharma Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Yoga as Ceremony sound like a match made in heaven, this course is for you!

Virtual & Self-Paced, Tune In From Anywhere and At Any Time

My choice to go virtual was to allow as many students as possible to benefit from this training, without being tied down to one city or location. My online training platform allows you to grow and develop your personal practice and teaching skills from the comfort of home, and to suit your schedule and the real-life demands of every day life. YES - it is possible to keep learning. YES - it is possible to elevate your practice. YES - you will be supported.

Multi-Disciplinary Approach & Perspectives

While Dharma Yoga forms the backbone and “masculine” container for this structure, you will also be taught how to get creative, flow and weave in softer, nourishing, “feminine” practices such as Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra so that you can tailor your personal practice and your classes to exactly the tempo, energy, season and life phase that you are in. As Dharma likes to say: “Use every tool available!”

"Use every tool available!"

"Use every tool available!" ✺

Of all the lessons my dear teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra, gave me, this is the big one that stuck, and a real testament to his ego-less and selfless nature. At its core, Dharma Yoga is not about making you adhere to strict rules and formats. It is about learning how to be receptive to all teachings, lessons and teachers in whatever shape or form they come. The goal is self-realisation. The goal is a deep, deep state of remembrance.
